Benjamin Sells Thompson, one of the founders of Upper Arlington, is shown here during the first Upper Arlington Fishing Club outing in 1918. Ben Thompson was an outdoorsman who enjoyed baseball, hunting, and fishing. The fishing club held their first outing along the banks of the Scioto River, six miles north of the Dublin city limits at that time. After a full day of fishing, the men enjoyed a shore dinner of sandwiches, wienerwurst, coffee, and apple pie.
