Since the first program premiered in 2010, Columbus Neighborhoods received local and national recognition. Along with Emmy® Awards, the initiative was recognized by the Columbus Landmarks Foundation, The Columbus Historical Society, and The German Village Society. The Greater Columbus Arts Council presented WOSU Public Media with its Award of Artistic Excellence for the series in 2012.
Now, it is pivoting from an occasional, in-depth historic documentary series to a weekly program that will explore life – then and now – in Columbus and central Ohio. And along with public forums, and segments designed for application in the classroom, this website will be an extension of the community conversation inspired by Columbus Neighborhoods.
