It opened in September, 1898. In 1916, it had 12 teachers and 430 pupils, and the principal was Ada Stephens. Columbus School News, June 9, 1916, p. 9.
Franklinton Post Office was organized July 1, 1803 and discontinued October 20, 1834. Built in 1807 by David Deardurff. Added to Columbus Register of Historic Properties 9/17/2001.
