Local Music Sets the Tone

Local music is a big part of my life and I do my best to incorporate the work of local musicians into my documentaries. The Short North and University District were full of local talent. When you shoot re-enactments, there are a million things going on at once.

The actors are getting ready, the camera guys are setting up, the techs are positioning lights. And I’m trying to see it all, all at once, to make sure the right camera angle with the right light, with the right actor tells the right story.

Clintonville the Farming Community

When I first started researching Clintonville I thought I knew what to expect. We know the neighborhood by its ravines and quaint houses, The Park of Roses and the memories of Olentangy Park amusement rides. What surprised me was that every historian and every old-timer told me to make sure to tell the tale of the land.
