Jeff Abraxas, King-Lincoln Muralist

Jeff Abraxas, the artist who created many of the murals in the King-Lincoln neighbhorhood on Mt. Vernon Ave. and Long Street, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the age of 39. He created this mural on Long St. just east of I-71 because he wanted young people in the neighborhood to become familiar with the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” for years known as “The Negro National Anthem.” Here’s the link to a radio story WOSU ran about Jeff:
